One day while I was browsing the dark web, I got a message from a long time friend of mine in our usual chatroom hangout. It was a link to a stream. I told him to fuck off since his red room streams aren't interesting in the least, but he said this was different. I ignored him that time, and I still regret it to this day. My friend logged out, and I never heard from him again. Days later, back at the dark web, curious to what happened to my friend, was when I noticed the link again. This might hold a clue to what happened to him. I looked at the link and I felt dread. It was as if my entire being was screaming, telling me not to open the link. I gulped. In the end, curiosity overcame my fear. I was curious. I set up all my proxies and protections, making sure it won't damage my PC, and clicked it.

It was a blank black page, with white text telling me that the stream starts at 4:44 am. It was anticlimactic, until I noticed the time. It was late at night, and the time was 3:33. It scared me. So I took a quick nap and set my alarm before the promised time. I slept like a baby-- but a loud scream woke me up. I jumped and looked around, but nobody was there. I checked at the time and it read 4:43. How eerie. I quickly turned the computer back on and went back to the dark web to that link. The stream began. In contrast to the scary atmosphere, the tune that came out was floaty and cheery, with upbeat flutes and funny xylophones. There was a loading screen, and the face of an anime girl I recognized. It was Nanashi Mumei from Hololive English -Council-! The music abruptly stops. The screen is enveloped in flames, and Mumei appeared, smiling at the audience. She greets us, asks us how it's been. It was scary because there was no chat to be found. The entire screen was just a stream. She then says that today is going to be a special day. A blackout strikes. The whole house went dark-- save for my computer. I was shocked. How is my computer still on when there isn't any electricity? I was scared and tried to close the computer, but it refused. Mumei starts laughing and laughing, and her faces grew more twisted as she laughed.

I tried running away from my room, but the door was locked. I threw my chair on the windows but it just wouldn't break. All the while Mumei was laughing. I swear she was looking at me. I cried and hid under my blanket, when I heard Mumei's voice again. I swear the voice was so close, it felt like she was a hair's breath away from my ears. I swear I could feel her breathe. She whispers some words, and then I understood. I got out of my bed and sat back up in front of my computer. She was still there, waiting for me, like a goddess, smiling. I smiled back, placed my thumbs on my eyeballs and pushed it in. I scraped my mushy eyes out of the socket and offered it to Mumei. I grabbed the scissors from my desk and aim it at my heart. Before I did, I opened up my notepad and wrote my story. This is a warning to you all. Do not open suspicious links, and do not watch the vtuber Nanashi Mumei if you want to live.
