Honestly I've always hoped vtubers started caring about the opinion of their viewers more than other vtubers sometime soon. I hope this is a good wake up call.

A lot of the blowback against parasocialism is silly because you wouldn't be vtubing if not for it. Most people are not entertaining enough to be watched "raw" for their talent as a entertainer.
Even when it comes to complaining about a viewer jumping in their DMs and being extremely weird and rude, it becomes a bit entiteld when you consider that vtubers often get more donations than streamers of the same size because of the same reason: Parasocialism. (Also because real entertainers have to deal with rabid fans that are much worse, like the ones that jump into the stage or stealing things to use as a memory, whereas most posts on twitter are about vtubers having to deal with people saying things behind a screen)
