i don't really mean getting people engaged in terms of dragging in new viewers, i just mean in terms of impressing your current viewers. or mybe even that's a bad way of saying it.
my conceptualization of design is that a design's goodness is based the goal of the design and how closely the design achieves that goal. something like "I only want a different outfit to change things up" will get a lot of yeses inherently because it's relatively easy to change up the silhouette of your design. a more useful goal would be some sort of specific feeling you want to evoke from your viewers
