Again, this is a silly concept, both thinking there is any novelty towards it (in the 2020s to boot) and thinking it is unheard in the west.
Even if professional wrestling did not exist as the PERFECT counterpart to what vtubers represent in the east, there are countless examples of fictional characters blurring the line and becoming icons and objects of affection themselves (regardless of the person behind the scene operating them).
