so ive been thinking about this for a pretty long time and finally decided to try put it into words even if poorly done.
when society has given you 3 deals for relationships which one would pick given how society shown you the results of each?

Dating: you can spend months trying to get with a woman which could end up with having the happiest thing in life(a wife, kids, family, ect...) but it also has a large con as 50% of marriages end in divorce which will greatly harm the man. you could also spend alot of money and time ending up with women that hurt you only to cheat and leave you.
high risk, high cost, very high reward


hook ups: if your decently good looking and have money you could spend everyday lying and sleeping with different women for endless sex and pleasure. at some point you will have to deal with some of the consequences of this life style be it in the form of rape accusations, ending up old without the money and looks to continue and finding sex completely empty to wear you only do it out of habit.
medium risk, medium cost, high to medium reward

Vtubers(any hobby that you can fulfil yourself with but vtubers specifically for this): you can invest your time and money however you want with random people on the internet, between paying nothing and just watching to spending a few hundred to do something nice. there isnt much risk either as at most someone you invest in leaves and you only loose what you put into them directly and depending on things can still go back and rewatch all the things they have made through direct vods or archives. the only thing you need to do is to be able to find someone you enjoy.
low risk, no to medium cost, low to high reward


for me personally
ive very much so gone into vtubers and last year i found my 2 view oshi, this has been the happiest ive ever been as even though im almost completely broke and have had to go through alot while following my oshi she has saved me from alot of pain(would probably be dead without her and other vtubers) and just made me really happy to be alive.
i try to do what i can to help her build a community and help her and even if she disappears again tomorrow i may loose that happiness but i can spend time looking for another 2 view to love watching while waiting for her to come back.
she has also helped me improve myself alot as ive gained around 20pounds of muscle, better eating/sleeping habits and a good number of random skills i picked up to help her out with things.
ive tried interacting with women irl but due to where i am ive found most are just political activists or not someone i want to bother talking to due to many reasons. yes there will be bad vtubers who try to scam people or try to hurt other vtubers(if they attack your oshi protect her) but you can normally warn people of them and ignore them with the damage they can cause to you being slim to none as long as you arnt throwing all your money at them.
vtubers and the communities around them have given me more faith in humanity then anyone irl has ever given me.
i pray for those without the meaning that comes with supporting their oshi or have lost their oshi

so im wondering if anyone else has felt the same as me or has tried the other 2 options or something im completely missing and willing to share how it went for themselves.
try not to bring pol and drama into this just share experiences and thoughts on your choice with those still deciding on how they want to live their life.

Are they really grateful to them? How would you differentiate those who don't care/take advantage of their fans from those who at least care about their fans?
