Yuki Yuna was a better Madoka that didn't forsake its original message of hope in favor of edgy grimdark. As long as you pretend s2 doesn't exist

Season 1 was kino, and I'd argue did a better job at doing what Madoka did, but Season 2 (specifically the second half) really ruined my opinion of the series. S1 ended perfectly; it didn't need to continue. So I haven't started s3 yet.

I get it's super popular and it's not bad by any means, but holy shit does it trigger my long-forgotten /a/utism. Yuuki Yuuna did everything better, except visual presentation. Story (if you ignore season 2), characters, OST.
