They were both kind of bastard children of Hololive, Suisei coming in fully as an outsider/independent, which is unique for Hololive, and Miko was working under Cover directly instead of Hololive before they moved her into the main branch

They both suffered early from very low viewership, because they weren't part of a gen and came in without much fanfare

I'm guessing that's why management figured to send them together to events and give them some exposure, and over the years working together they became really good friends. They have very similar stories and it's honestly so good to see them thriving now. They're really inspirational and it makes miComet even better than it could be

PekoMiko is sweet but I don't think they ever had the backgrounds for such a strong connection no matter how long ago their friendship started.

I might be wrong here, but to me Pekora just seems incapable of reciprocating the kind of friendship Miko wants. She certainly was able to at times, but something makes her unwilling or unable too often.
