Think about polarizing Holos: Ollie, Matsuri, Kiara. No matter your personal disposition toward them, you know that they're sincere. They're passionate--sometimes cringeworthy or over-emotional, but they are genuine in those traits. Zoombie is a loud menhera, but is also an enthusiastic, funny sweetheart. Likewise Festival, with the menhera cranked up, but disarmingly cute and unfiltered. Kiara can be overbearing, but she's funny and truly cares about her friends and fans. Whatever their faults, they're all true to themselves, and they all value Hololive. They act like their job is a burden. They care about doing their best and they care about their fans and coworkers.
Mori is different. She's apathetic and insincere. She makes promises she doesn't keep. She lies to her genmates (hearing Kiara's "King cover"). She is a wet blanket. She was the worst appearance on Coco's meme review ever, not because she wasn't engaging (everyone has off days), but because she couldn't even play along the way a robot programmed to say "next meme" could. She can't be bothered to do the bare minimum to circumvent technical issues (Lethal League or Cuphead.) She acts like Hololive is an albatross, claims it's a bubble, when she can't even name three fucking Holos on demand (which could expand that bubble!). She doesn't know rap (a "RAPPER" who doesn't know the fucking Wu-Tang Clan?), and she doesn't know Hololive. She applied on a whim as a joke, and that insincerity is her defining, damning feature.
This is why Mori stands alone. She's fake. Her apathy isn't cool and ironic; it's a drag, because there's no counterbalance to it. Her unwillingness to engage with her genmates isn't charmingly tsun, it's disrespectful and irritating. There's no kino, only cringe and darting eyes. Take away the e-celeb controversies; she's still a rude downer who acts like doing the bare minimum is onerous. She's a Holo in name only, and there isn't much authentic humanity/soul in her persona. It's baffling that she's so ungrateful seems to think she's above the gig given that more talented and charismatic Holos embrace it.
