I try to do a reading stream every week or two, though it varies with what else I've got going on. I know I'll definitely be reading Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" in December, very much looking forward to that.

I've been trying to get better about VOD management and playlists, so I've created a playlist of all my reading streams. I also pulled out one excerpt, which is about as clippable as I think reading streams can get.

The Fall Poetry stream from last week is still processing, but it'll be on this playlist.

What kinds of stories are you interested to listen to? My own taste goes more towards older literature and poetry, but I'm willing to try new things.

I get decent views on my reading streams, but it's definitely less than my average music or gaming streams. But I really like doing them, and the viewers who stop by for them seem to really appreciate them, and find them relaxing and/or interesting, so I think there's definitely viewer interest. It just may be a smaller niche than you're used to streaming to. For what it's worth, I felt incredibly flattered when a viewer told me that my reading to them helped them fall asleep.

I think reading streams are at their best when the person reading reads clearly and expressively, and can discuss and explain what they're reading. The nature of reading streams makes chat engagement more difficult, so I think the streamer should be able to provide context. There needs to be value that the viewer wouldn't gain from reading it themselves, you know?
