I've recently uncovered Moona's true goals and the reason for joining hololive.

First off, the design: Why the moon? People might assume it's to represent her muslim beliefs, but this is a clever misdirection by the indonesian mastermind. The design as well as her rather autistic on-screen personality tie into her ultimate goal. She was waiting for her chance, fully primed with lapis lazuli, buffed to attract rabbits by being the moon and clouded in severe autism as to not scare the anti-social, head of UsaKen. All she had to do was wiggle the proverbial carrot on a stick and hope that Pekora would bite.

Working with her was a dream come true for Moona, so much so, that she doubted she was good enough for Pekora (she even had to get a peptalk from Iofi). After a short while of enjoying the time spent with her object of admiration, she proceeded with her plan. Making Pekora more open to interaction was only the first step afterall. Moona couldn't leave Pekora in her comfort zone with just herself, building in minecraft, even if she could've enjoyed it for ever. It's not what's best for Pekora. Instead she hired new builders for UsaKen, breaking the shell Pekora had built around herself bit by bit by introducing her to new friendships within a familiar space.

Moona has been following Pekora's roommate since the NND days and is grateful to her for giving her brief but much needed pause from her daily struggle of living in a muslim theocracy. For her oshi she improved on her own shortcomings to the point she would get accepted into the same company. She would help her oshi make friends and be happy. She would give back to the person that once saved her simply by being there.

Pekora will never know about any of this, about any of Moona's sacrifices along the way. Moona, however will feel fulfillment just knowing, that Pekora will get healed just like she was healed by Pekora. Moona is the ultimate Gosling and a true hero.
