Only I understand Gura’s heart. She must have wanted to have a nice little event for her birthday and some warmup streams leading up to it, and I’m sure she even recorded some bits for it and asked other holos to come on as guests. However, she’s been away for too long and knows there are plenty of people who want an explanation for that. But she doesn’t have a satisfactory explanation, so what can she do? If she streams without addressing it again people will get pissy, so she can’t do that, but if she can’t come up with something then the only option left is to continue doing nothing. That doesn’t help either, but since she’s already been doing that it’s the only remaining thing her anxiety will allow her to do. Only if management forces the issue, she will return on the 20th and maybe stream a couple times after to shill before disappearing again. She probably feels like she’s done her fans wrong, and there are no doubt some fans who agree with that sentiment, but the only way forward is for her to realize that actually nobody cares as long as she’s on-stream being herself.
