Pekora and Miko are old friends who used to stream on niconicodouga together.
When they both ended up in hololive later they would do things together like before. PekoMiko chaos in minecraft was one of the earliest sources of fandom memes.
Naturally viewers liked this, and would be enthusiastic about them doing things together, with varying degrees of social grace.
Miko is the type who has no problem with playing off or playing along with fandom hyperactivity, whether shipfagging or otherwise. Pekora on the other hand as you might know is a more reserved, sensitive soul, who doesn't like feeling like she's being pressured. Rather than any kind of direct acrimony, it was this difference in reaction to the social phenomena, with one not minding it, and the other being troubled by it, that might have been a source of trouble.
The last time they had a major 1 on 1 collaboration, on stream or otherwise, was an off-collab sleepover.
After this, there was never any major on-stream interactions between them again, which resulted in an explosion of spicy rrats MIKO RPAED PEKORA, but what i outlined above is the basic gist.
