I said to the same extent. I believe that some people would have converted, and there would currently be a bigger core international audience than there is now. Also, the EN audience got bored because HoloEN and Cover (both management and talents) dropped the ball hard in years 2 and 3, but that's a separate matter.

As I said above; converts. Just how anime has slowly worked it's way to being kind of accepted in the west, vtubers could have done the same as an extension of that subculture combined with the streaming culture. Especially if there was decent collaboration with Cover/Anycolor and YouTube themselves when Twitch was also fumbling last year, there could have been a major shift in the streaming industry. As I said in the post you replied to, however, it may be too late.

I'd theoretically be fine with that if the CN Holos streamed in Japanese and/or English about as often. Practically this wouldn't work out because China is a shithole and CCP/blbl are horrible partners.

Well, yeah, that's how you get an audience, you pander to people. I'm fine with current Hololive as is (despite other problems) because I can understand JP enough to watch HoloJP comfortably and tl for others, but I just think they have a lot more potential.

This is true. The snippets we've seen from the investor meetings involving the clueless JP grandpas are worrying, and fortifying Hololive against them might be advisable. Whether than can be achieved by increasing the foreign audience, I don't know.
Cross-culture is what I'm advocating for too, I believe it is/can be a unique dynamic selling point for Hololive, and it can be further enhanced.

It could be a fun gimmick stream once or twice a year but it's kinda cringe imo, same with the inverse in EN/ID. There needs to be some pandering, but also some separation. There's gotta be a balance.

I'm a Eurofag. I have watched many vtubers over the past 5 years (less nowadays due to time constraints), all Holos, mostly JPs due to stream times. I superchat whenever I can (jobless uni student), though I prefer showing my support through memberships, and have everything set up to start ordering merch as soon as I have a stable income and a stable address. I'm not saying we are many, but we exist. The EU market is taken by indies/twitch streamers because Cover neglected it. It's tha same circular argument every time: little to no EU viewership->little to no pandering to EU->little to no EU viewership etc. I don't particular mind, but you can't solely blame us Eurofag for this.
