Have to admit, took me a fair bit of time finding this general since using Search obviously comes up with nothing with "Coco", "Kiryu", or the old "桐生ココ". But that's mostly because I didn't want to spend more than 10 seconds gawking at the drama or the gossip shit the catalog has. While I'd much rather we do rename as the kson general and deal with the antiposting for a couple weeks like what the other EN generals did, it's also gonna be too much effort for thread name autism's sake.

Her streaming regularly at all is a better outcome than her disappearing off the face of the internet, but I no longer have the same enthusiasm when watching her as before. She understood and utilized her avatar in a way few other chuubas do. Through her edited content, live skits, and interactions with others, she managed to bring her character to life in a way I've seldom seen. Most Vtubers are simply live streamers with a moving anime avatar and that's the full extent of it, but I believe the content she made as a virtual youtuber truly showcased the power of this medium. With that factor removed, to me, she's just an ordinary streamer now. In a way, it's like following a band after you fell in love with their breakout album but slowly lose interest in them when they shift styles over the years. Their stuff is still good and I enjoy it, but it's not what I fell in love with. Perhaps the greatest irony, however, is that all the points I just listed may not have been what she truly wanted to do all this time. She has mentioned before how she wanted to do certain kinds of innovative content but was denied doing so by management. But this was only a function of her operating within the company as a way to stand out among her peers and rivals from other companies. As an independent, she has no real motive to do the kind of exemplary work she did before. She certainly has the skills and experience to continue making such content, but she has never really stated that she enjoys utilizing such talents for that reason. Perhaps the things I enjoyed the most about her really only existed out of pure pragmatism dictated by her situation and now that all that is gone, I am left here having fell in love with a lie.

On September 24 Akai Haato streamed herself checking out her youtube analytics, and mentioned that some of her viewers came from Taiwan. A day later Kiryu Coco did the same thing and also mentioned that some of her viewers came from Taiwan. Chinese fans got pissed. Cover had to do something or else they would lose a big portion of their market. So two days later both Haato and Coco were suspended for three weeks and Cover made an apology towards China.

After this event Coco faced effectively a "soft-embargo" on her endeavors as a Hololive Vtuber many of which came directly from staff themselves, these include but are not limited to;

>The heavy restrictions on Coco's attempts to collaborate with other members
>Coco was blacklisted from appearing on Hologra
>As the antis spammed her chat to oblivion Cover did very little to help for many months including the most damning incident where Coco took a list of her worst antis to Cover to have them intervene and help her chat only to have Cover deliberately give moderator status to said antis who then used this power to ban many of Coco's most loyal fans (source - https://streamable.com/1fq1y4 )

All of these things are objective incidents which cannot be disputed, what followed would be that on Jun 9th Coco would announce she would be graduating for "reasons she cannot talk about". Simultaneously a video was posted claiming that it was Chinese supporting elements that were the true cause for Coco's graduation of which you can watch below;

Although it is unsupported hearsay we can see from previous actions taken by Cover that likely many of the things talked about in the expose video are not only plausible but very likely. Not to mention the level of shilling each and every one of these threads gets weighed under. Cover intentionally harassed and belittled Coco's efforts in an attempt to force her to self-graduate all to the ends of attaining favorship from China and getting their hands on that sweet chink money.
