I had a great time watching Sonny's Dusk stream today! Sat through a few hours of Minecraft beforehand while lurking this stream; I was glad to see his whole DJ Hopper bit got some people to realize that he's actually pretty damn funny. He's not constantly funny, of course, and his humor can run the gamut from deadpan to what the fuck, like him doing a village preacher impression and literally throwing the holy book at people or him spending a good five minutes abusing collision physics to push a corpse into a campfire so he could LARP as a cannibal. But if you're the right flavor of retarded for that humor to hit (I am!), you can get some good laughs out of his streams.
Dusk was a fun watch; you can really tell it was made by the same team as Ultrakill. Like Ultrakill, it's a bit of an odd stream experience because there's a ton of secrets you can waste time on finding and exploring. I was a tiny bit disappointed he turned down the difficulty and went for a more straightforward playthrough, but it honestly makes for a better stream experience for people who aren't autists. I'd like to see him do a speedrun or challenge run stream one day, though, preferably of a game he's played but hasn't streamed yet.
These FPS streams are kind of a viewer filter, and it was pretty awkward watching him ask his chat questions about the game and only getting 'i don't know' as a response - but god, this really is the kind of content I watch Sonny for. He definitely seemed a lot more bright (?) and energetic today, and he had quite a lot to say about the game - well, at least in comparison to previous streams. I liked him experimenting with mechanics he knew from Quake and other FPS games to see if they worked in this one, but I especially enjoyed his effusive praise for the game itself and how he always manages to convey just how much fun he's having. There's something really infectious and endearing about the sheer joy he radiates when approaching games like these; it's there in his other streams, too, but it's just been especially evident in Ultrakill and Dusk so far.
Hope his good mood keeps up. He's got a lot more personality that way.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk. If any of you want to check out his rigging, he did an expressions showcase during superchat reading. Somehow, I've Stockholm'd myself into actually liking his model.
