It's just one of those things that comes with competition. Same as how in real life you might see people doing amazing in practice and all that but many times when the real thing happens, they might just flounder especially if its for the first time. That's also the same for in warfare and battle and stuff. It's a psychological thing and its suppose to be something that just happens, even if you try your best to calm yourself and make it seem like nothing although experience helps to rid of it.
