When vtubing left the prerecorded skit era and entered the streaming era pretty much all creativity and high effort content died in favor of quick zoomerbaiting slop. Vtubing had great potential as its own original medium but instead it aligned itself with the lowest common denominator content you can find online: streamer/e-celeb culture. It works, makes money and has good viewership but it is creatively bankrupt.

Of all the things real-time anime characters could have been, they choose to be Amouranths behind an anime mask. Sad but it is what it is and it is never going to change.
