I think we'd see more schizos if the male ones actually pandered their avatar to those fetishes more. What I usually see with male ones, is Generic Ichigo Kurosaki looking ones, Tough Yakuza looking characters, Drag Queens with deep voices; Female avatars with deep male voices or Effeminate Gay voices.

I've yet to see ones that actually fill that moe gap. It's still not going to be as popular as girl ones. Like if there were a shota one I think it would do better than most of the male ones we've seen.

The other issue is also that guys seem to have no real range for changing their voice, or sticking with a character as well as girls do. It more just turns into a monotone chat. It's fine if you want to just use a normal voice, but for the love of god emote. It's like they've never seen popular lets players in their lives; and more just play like they would in private.
