it's about wagering pumping everything into the best dip against buying all dips regardless of outlook. consider you always have limited budget, the most optimal play with perfect foresight would autistically adjust the wallet every cycle to minmax exactly this, also considering how much of a profit can be expected in how many cycles.

For human players though - sure, buying dips usually turns a profit, if it doesnt immediately it will at some fucking time.
But for a quick example, imagine buying a Roboco or Aki dip, your returns will be $200 in the best imaginable case. If those 5 Roboco bought you one Gura 2-3 hours ago you already made the $200 and get divvies on top of that as well as a fat bonus from the outfit reveal. Those are the considerations flowing into a statement like "buying every dip is not optimal". It would of course be with infinite money.
