Fun fact most food in SEA is so fucking loaded with carbs and lacking in nutritional value that it actually gives people brain damage and makes it impossible to bulk. I knew a bodybuilder who sadly lived in the Philippines and he literally had to move to Canada just to get food with decent protein content. 99% of SEA food is just carbs, all their street foods are fried, all their fast food is covered in shitty cheese or is fried, all their instant foods are primarily just noodles. and salt, and the price of fruit is absurdly high because importing anything fucks the price completely and they have very few native fruits that aren't garbage. They actually have an absurd obesity rate for how low their GDP is. The compounding issue is that there exists a higher class of expat in most SEA countries with markets tailored specifically for their taste with a ton of marked up imported goods like apples and lettuce. Only expats and the wealthy can afford stuff like apples and cereal and decent quality meat. The general public subsists on instant noodles (with absurd carb and sodium content) and rice mostly.
