The System Shock series is the precursor to the Bioshock series and the originator of Immersive Sims as a genre. There's a remake of 1 coming out this year. It was supposed to come out years ago. But the devs fucked up hard during development and had to restart almost everything. There's a demo out now.

System shock 2 is the sequel to that and is basically confirmed to get a remake since the other two games are happening. Has an HD mod out that makes it a lot better. It's also super fucking cheap too.

System shock 3 was in development for a brief while before being shelved. It was restarted by Tencent. Who took over development of it. This dramatically lowered my expectations for it to be even a little bit good in anything but gameplay.
