Indies and associations similar to vshojo (in the corporate sense) will dominate the vtuber market in a few years, it's the natural evolution after everyone realizes you watch vtubers for the authentic experience which you can only get from supporting your favorite and watching her struggle to find success.
Ironically this is what idols were always meant to be until big corpos realized they could synthetize the experience in a controlled environment.
