Thanks but already ended up doing one myself so more stuff I guess.
Always manually check the selected formats, I don't trust yt-dlp with making a sane choice it also seems to prefer vp9 for some reason which on youtube is not the better format.
On that note, yt-dlp can also see and download the youtube premium formats, whatever they cooked up with their mudhut magic, it's not working too well.
We also got vp9 working on the site for quite a while now, differences to vp8 are more noticeable than just a little especially with transitions, movement heavy scenes or darker scenes like picrel.
