If I understand her correctly, she's probably just very into making the coolest model design she can. I do the same with my non-vtuber sketches, I have a few character concepts that I've redesigned a lot of times, because I either think that the old design is below my current skill level, or because my tastes change and I want to draw the same base idea with a different flavour.

I think the main reason I have the sword on my mind, is because I don't like the unrealistic japanese fictional style of scythes. They show up in everywhere anime and games, and I have always found them ridiculous looking in the same way I see swords with way too many spikes. Probably the most fitting realistic weapon for the moon visual would be either a shotel, or some less oversized polearm, since juni likes pole weapons, or spears at least.
