Hello /lig, I hope you are doing well. It's the start of the new month, which means we got the numbers for August set up. As usual it's the top 20 based on monthly CCV average and the source used was twitch tracker. For notes, I have four disqualifications for the month: Jaiden animations (less than 7 streams, will be included next month), Anny (less than 7 streams), Lord Aethelstan (mostly flesh streamed), and Fefe (blatant botting). With that noted, here's the top 20

Downs: So there are a lot of down chuubas this month, most like Sinder, Giri, Rainhoe and buffpup can be explained with they all had buffs due to either newer models or events that have worn off month to month, but overall it feels like with the end of summer and younger viewers going back to school August was a down month for most of the large liggers out there. The one I am going to talk about in great detail, however, is Bao.

Bao (1,509 CCV) hit a whopping -30% viewership this month after not streaming enough to qualify last month. That's a pretty notable - 666 CCV for the entire month and one so steep she was beaten out by Geega the last spot. The culprit? She shilled too hard. Out of 15 streams in one month, nearly half (7) were either fully sponsored or had a sponsored segment. The attached image is Bao's lifetime stream growth. She is now reaching a point where people are entirely sick of her shit and she's losing viewership. She's come across at this point as someone who is not only unreliable but also does not respect her viewers time, and she's starting to lose her relevance because of it. With the migration of viewership to the mid sized niche specific vtubers, I sure hope she fixes her mental because if she continues down this path she'll be a sub 1K vtuber this time next year.

In ups, the big winners this month were silvervale (up 13%), layna (up 14%), and Numi (up 17%). For silver and numi it is more of a return to form after down months last month, and for Layna, it is positive momentum and proof that she's heading in the right direction as a creator. Interestingly the other notable gains we saw were in the 300-1.5k vtuber brackets, with many notable names like Olivia, Jets, Kitanya, Camila, Tob, Meat, and Coqui all hitting record viewership and people like Limes and Lucy almost making the top 20. We are seeing a greater spreading of the vtuber audience and I think the way this is eventually going to trend is a bunch of decent sized chuubas with few, if any, over 2k due to people sticking to the specific vtubers that suit their taste. Not a bad thing in my opinion and likely healthier overall for the scene.
