That other anon gave you pretty sound advicr but aside from using asterisks to describe your own actions, but you can also use parentheses to describe the actions of other characters and even go "out of character" to speak directly to the AI that's actually running the program. Since the AI will automatically forget older details in a conversation, if you want to do a long-term scenario, then I recommend going out of character every 30 to 50-ish messages just to remind the AI what's happened so far. You can also go ooc at the start of a conversation to set up the roleplay (pic related is an example I found a while back from someone else).
