Mori obviously felt really bad for Kiara, and they have to keep their relationship afloat because they are colleagues, but the situation is as follows: Kiara confessed to Mori and, since Mori hates homos, she rejected her and now the situation is awkward as fuck. It's no coincidence that Takamori fanart from the Crunchy One has long dried up since, but to be fair, there hasn't been any real good new takamori stream content for ages now anyway, so the "ship" already all but cooled off unofficially anyways, this is just the final nail in the coffin.

Thematically speaking the ship made sense and was nice lore wise, but every single one of their actual interactions was straight up painful to watch. It always felt to me like Mori was just humoring Kiara on a delusion.

The ship had its up and downs, but honestly most of the downs are because Mori was too autistic to carry a ship, and all of the ups were because they were actual friends and could have nice interactions with each other, so this is pretty much just a net positive for everyone.
