Hello bros, relatively newfag teammate here with a question. I'm only about 2/3s through Ames outer wilds playthrough and obviously won't be ae to finish it before the stream. Will I be able to understand what's going on if I watch tonight watching? Or should I finish the vod first before watching dlc? Second of all, that question's been answered a few times already today iirc, but my perspective on it is that if you want all of the punch of what's to happen in the DLC to hit as hard as it's intended to, finish the VODs first, but I understand not wanting to miss Ame live, so it's really up to you.

The DLC could be enjoyed as a standalone. It's full of details and contextual information from the core game that has certain implications, not on the story as such, but on how the player perceives it. It's obviously part of the same Universe, and it's done in a way that if you play OW for the first time, you could complete the DLC content by accident without even knowing anything about the core game. So you might enjoy it.
The only thing that could ruin the experience for you is Ame or us talking about the game and spoiling the ending. So it's up to you. I have the feeling that if you wait to finish the vods, it wouldn't seem so important to you. But if you don't wait, you would have preferred to do it

One thing they do here that I like from the entrances is, since you start from the outside of the planet's orbit and look in, you go in the first time through the back entrance. When you go from Timber Hearth, you go in another entrance but don't notice it right away. So you don't explore that area like you would the first one since it looks identical, and there is an elevator that takes you up to the dam on that side. Not that the elevator is very important, you only need it once or twice, but it was a cool way to hide it in plain sight.

I like the owls. They were initially as adventurous and ambitious as the Nomai but cowered away when confronted with something that went prior to their expectations. They're really like a mirror to the Nomai in their ethos and the way you experience their story.
