I think this ship really highlights actually what went wrong with Takamori: both Kiara and Mori were too far into their tropes. Kiara pushed a bit too much on being "in love" with Mori, who in turn was often too cold and hard towards her. It didn't really feel like they had affection for each other.

I still don't understand why normalfags ate up that pairing though.
