I always felt like the shading/lighting for some Nijisanji models are weird and inconsistent.
Newer Hololive models feel a lot more consistent with how shading/lighting is done.
Can't really explain it properly. I think it may just be that Hololive uses outlines on their models where it doesn't look like Nijisanji does.

JP-side has Chocosanji and Puchisanji. The former is cringe voice acting with 3D models, the later just takes a scene (including audio) from a recent popular stream and makes a lightly animated short for it.
EN-side has something called Nijiscenario that will be coming out in a couple of days. It was originally announced as "original animated scenarios with characters voiced by NijiEN", but that might have changed since then. We'll find out soon.

No it's definitely trash and feels forced which is hilarious because when you hear the voice acting in VPs it's miles different for almost all of them. Can't put my finger on it but the cuts in between sentences are so fast, and it's like the directors caught the Nijis walking home and said "hey quickly record this line with no context and make sure to sound like a robot". Hologra is less cringe but still annoying to me, however it's more "wacky" and memeable.

Lets just say things were getting intense and basically almost the entire party was in danger of being killed in a mansion full of vampires, then she made a scenario where Ina's character basically played rock-paper-scissors to the head vampire to get them all out. Also Ame and Kiara were currently fighting against like bloodlusted twin vampires with skins hard enough that bullets barely damage them, but then Kiara manages to damage the eye of one of them, leading to the vampire crying out in pain on the ground while the other twin decide to give up and let them leave.

I guess I should also mention prior to the fight, Kiara was struggling for like 3 turns to break out of being hypnotized by the vampire, who within that time frame just bound her up and stripped her naked. Ina also actually did nothing significant to warrant the offer but for some reason the head vampire was like admiring her group for sneaking in so he was willing to let them just get away if she won a game against him. It was actually a bit of shame cause Gura's character seemed to have found the solution out of the sticky situation they got themselves in with her idea of setting the mansion on fire but they ended up going for Ina's gamble instead.

I'd argue it's less "less people are interested in the sessions anymore" and more "they didn't properly advertise where the collab would be streamed".

All 5 of them only place TTRPG in their schedule, so unless you knew that they were cycling whoever's channel they were going to stream on next, and knew that it was Amelia's, the casual viewer wouldn't know where they were supposed to catch the stream. Add in to the fact that Amelia only made her stream reservation like 1-2 hours before the stream, then most people who would have been interested in watching would have had no idea they were supposed to watch it at Amelia's channel.

Seems like most members have a hard "glass ceiling" at 2k and breaking through it requires extraordinary feats.

Selen, Elira and to a certain extent Pomu have a momentum in their swing that, when they're trying hard enough, they can break through it.

I've said it before, their main issue is trying to imitate hololive almost to the letter, thus ensuring that they will forever stand in hololive's shadow. As seen in the case of WoW and CoD, you cannot overtake the market leader by offering a product that is similar to the market leader, but with X, because people just won't take the effort to switch over for minor differences.
Personally, what I would've done is debut either a non human character, like Debi or the dog, or a male in the first wave. Preferably both. You need to make it clear, immediately, visually, what makes nijisanji different from hololive to avoid being labled as yet another hololive knockoff. Vshojo managed to do this by both being on twitch and going in on the pee pee poo poo crass humour, but I don't think that's a viable option for Nijisanji

Swear at the fact that whoever the fuck decided to try and rebrand IN to EN really fucked the pooch.
Then immediately announce auditions instead of waiting until December to do so. Instead of releasing two 3-man waves and then a 4 man, start off with a 5?4 man wave asap, then space the two 3-man waves out to hit 3 months after each other.
This does two things
-bigger starting wave lets more people get brought in as HoloEN dropoffs get bored and want to find something new
-better spacing means each wave gets a bit more time to develop.
Another thing is, try scouting with other non-indie variety streamers in mind sooner.
Another thing, IMO if Selen was in wave 1, NijiEN would be stronger overall as they could've brought in more people early on, giving a potential snowball effect.

Debuting a male wave would be the high risk (potentially high/no) reward option. By choosing to go all-in on Manjisansji(eck) you give up on the audience that HoloEN courts to instead fight it out vs traditional streamers in the West. It's a bold strategy, and if you manage to scout correctly you take over that segment of the market, but oh boy that is a herculean task IMO. Anonimity is a debuff for males iirc, something that uhhhh dream mentioned in an interview he did. I'll need to double check that, but I do remember reading it. How anonimity means that certain things that a lot of the traditional Twitch streamers do are NG as someone who has to remain 'faceless'.
Basically you'd have to avoid all the wimpy losers that infest the current vtuber indie scene and find people that
-want to try out the whole vtuber thing
-have the confidence and skills to attract an audience
It's almost impossible, but who knows, if you manage to fish out a gura-tier talent you forever win the male vtuber market in the West.

They even doubled down on the branch and kept Coco, graduated their CN branch to keep the momentum going for their EN fans happy. NIji playing it safe won't get them to great heights. It's evident even now they're playing it safe when an EN branch is lucrative and an early male wave could still prove a success. Without the idol part, the Chinese clippers would never have started the clipper snowball effect in the first place that gave HoloEN it's initial audience in the West to begin with. Those chinese clippers were unironic idolfags that were doing it in part to push their oshis.

Without them, the level of exposure that the EN audience had to Hololive would be much reduced, and HoloEN wouldn't have taken off nearly as hard as it did.
Of course they screwed it up by thinking that they were bigger than the talents themselves, so they were rightfully exiled and memoryholed from the collective consciousness of the fanbase.

Ttrpg has always been Mori’s passion project and a way to keep the girls together at a time she felt they were drifting apart, and I think she accepted before she started the numbers would be complete ass: Hunter: the Vigil is obscure, she’s pulling in stuff from splats 99.9% of her audience has no idea even exists, it hard filters any JP fans, has a terrible time slot, and is serialized. To maximize numbers it would’ve been in her channel every week but she already felt bad eating up every other group collab. That said it still does reasonable numbers and it helps group chemistry. Notably it seems like Gura and Mori really got closer after her 1:1 session, one of the best streams in all of HoloEN. From a long term perspective keeping the girls happy and invested in their genmates is far more valuable than a few million views here or there. Any of the Myth girls could graduate and do very well keeping Covers cut, Mori and Gura especially, but their personal ties reduces that risk. I feel this is another area Hololive has an advantage over Niji

Yeah, not really or that would reflect in the regular streamers market as well.

Streaming (face or avatar) reminds me a lot of that professional poker fad in the late 2000s, early 2010s with lots of people thinking that just because some 5 to 10 blokes and chicks could make it big in the circuit, that ANYONE could make it big or even break even.

While in the end the small fish got eaten (likely by debts) and even the big fish had to reinvent themselves with progressively more elaborate stunts and lores until the market disappeared because people and sponsors lost interest.

Not much different, to be honest. Most numberfags here don't know much about how business works, and it shows. If you think you need 1m subscribers to make money in vtubing, you don't know much about money.

By November 2020 it's too late for Niji to beat Hololive in the west. Debuting Wave 1 a bit earlier and spending a bit more time hyping them would have been better, but it wouldn't change much.

All things considered, Lazulight ended up being more successful than most people predicted. People were unironically saying that they'd struggle to reach 50k subs within their first year, and that they'd only have like 100-300 live viewers.

Nijisanji is a clear 2nd place in this industry globally, but that's not that bad if they can keep it. Most industries can support more than one company. McDonalds isn't the only chain restaurant, Disney isn't the only live action studio, EA isn't the only game company, etc. VTubing is obviously much smaller than those other industries, but it's big enough to support more than a few agencies, and NijiEN being the 2nd biggest in the west would be enough for that branch to be a success. VShojo is more pressing competition than HoloEN, but VShojo operates on a different platform and appeals to a somewhat different audience (albeit one with significant overlap).
