I've made it back and more in less than a year (male) and only streaming a few hours 3 times a week while never going past 25 viewers outside of raids. "can't measure fun blah blah blah" bullshit aside, I definitely feel like I've had a lot of fun and made lots of great friends from this hobby. Most people will definitely make it back even if they're only moderately entertaining I'd say in about 6 months.

What's the most 'fun' redeems you've seen chuubas use? I need extra ideas for high (and low, I guess) point values. I've got a 'guide the raid' and 'play obnoxious sound' as high-ish points, but I'm not good at art so a "I'll doodle you something" doesn't really work, unless people like super scuffed mspaint art?

As a 20-30 average views I make between 200-300 a month and I stream about 10-12 hours a week. Pretty good hourly pay but that doesn’t factor in the networking, discord managing and Twitter presence.

I agree about collabs. I’m generally not a fan of doing them, primarily because it generally only really appeals to the more hardcore of fans and can be unappealing to people who stumble onto you.

You can’t really get a good read on a streamer when they’re collabing and they tend to pay less attention to their chats as well.

It’s also why I think it’s retarded to collab on every participants stream. It makes it even more of a hassle to follow as a viewer. Just have the one with the highest average viewer count host.

There's a few things that make it good:
1 - Nice voice. If you sound like Gilbert Gottfried, I'm not sticking around
2 - Knows the topic. Can actually provide information on this, rather than just waffling about entry level stuff
3 - Doesn't have ADHD. I do, and I bounce between topics like a ping-pong ball on meth. I lose track of what I was talking about very quickly, if literally anything happens in game - yesterday I got surprise attacked, and had to ask chat what I'd been telling them about, because the knowledge was just gone.

Yeah I agree, some chuubas need time to figure out what they're comfortable with. I just think it's easier to go seiso to not than the other way around.

For me I can appreciate someone being passionate about a topic. Honestly if someone really deeply cares about something enough to do a lecture on it I'm probably willing to listen. It's also nice to learn new things. I think Picky does really nice ones she has done a couple showa retrospectives and artist spotlights and a TempleOS spotlight. First thing would be to learn to externalise your thought process. If you're concerned about dead air, the most basic thing you can do is just say what's on your mind. Then once you're comfortable with speaking a bit more, you can start adding in conversation hooks, anecdotes, stories, etc. This is the sort of thing where you can prep topics to discuss and be able to carry a zatsudan instead of just read out your cliff notes verbatim and not know how to continue the flow. I sometimes struggle with the latter without doing a lot of umming and uhhing.

I don't like dead air too much, I kind of like crisp commentary with the occasional anecdote or story, Clauvio has a good balance. Not a huge fan of people who are too much of a chatterbox which is sadly how I feel like I am when I stream. I just have it drilled into my head that dead air bad so I naturally keep talking...

Depends on the chuuba honestly, whatever works for them naturally. That's kind of why I don't like redeems that force it one way or another because you know it will be used counter to how the streamer is feeling.

Depends on who, but sometimes I would. Generally though, I prefer stealth zatsus because there's at least another layer of activity instead of just a chat, or like a lecture/informational type stream if it's pure chatting.

you can do quite a bit with vroid. a lot more than what most people do with it at least. you can make things for it in blender and put them on the model and make them look really distinct. you have to do quite a lot of work to get the mouth to not look like a vroid mouth but it is possible. also being able to have an easy to make model and exporting it to VRchat is also great for VR streams!
