Getting Hololive collabs is a big deal for Vshoujo, it's only moderately interesting to Holo EN though as it doesn't really give them much of a buff. From what I know YouTube freezes the counter and then verifies the views and then releases it in batches. So what happens is we get spurts of high growth but it actually increases the time take to reach the milestone. When views come in that aren't normal viewers of the channel, and aren't through one of YT's algo surfaces, then YT tries to verify the view is legitimate before displaying it. So orgs with wide audiences that seek out special occasions like song releases, or lots of off site traffic (Hololive has both) will get throttled whenever a video brings in a lot of tourists.
