You're looking at this the wrong way though, Coco was always the odd one out with her supacha culture. Rainbows, toilet flushing, auroras, any gimmick SC you can think of originated from Kiryukai and those drive the count way up. I identified all the same problems you had and had assumed that the academy would just be some kind of 6 month part time thing behind the scenes in order to farm up better debut candidates but broadcasting this seems to be missing the point of a chuuba and making it feel more like a product molded by the company with even a pre-planned growth arc included instead of helping and cheering on someone working towards their dreams. It also asks the questions, how samey will these candidates end up? Will the audience agree with the 'training' or whatever they plan to display? If someone catches on, what happens when they graduate, will they be able to tell fans that they're becoming someone else? I can think of one possibly good avenue to take this though, they use this temporary channel and avatar in order to plan out and crowd source ideas for their eventual proper debut, including model design. Not exactly. A lot of the low-mid to bottom Nijis basically treat it as a hobby. Kuzuha, Kanae and Fuwa are digital host for Fujos. There are some in Niji who do want to make it big but most of them will probably graduate to pursue those dreams irl. Hololive is different because most Holos do have a big dream in mind and want to achieve it as chuubas. Suisei and Subaru are the epitome of this. Even Pekora who danced like shit in Holofes2 greatly improved as showcased in Mel's live yesterday because she actually started training. The biggest problem is Apex though. They would probably do better with more minecraft streams, which are currently quite infrequent. But how I started watching them, because they would be playing minecraft for 8 hours in what is EU primetime.
