I feel like you are looking at the wrong numbers for a music brand like Kami. Youtube isn't their focus nor the optimal platform for their content, and as a result they don't get big stream audiences. However, if you look at Spotify, a much better fit for them, you have Kaf and Rim with around the same numbers of monthly listeners as Suisei, depending on release schedule. Haru just put her first album out and inclined from 5k vpm to 20k already which is twice Boogey Voxx's, and I would expect Jou and Koko to see similar growth when their albums finally drop. Add in all the other external things they do, and they're pretty massive numberwise even if it's not reflected in Youtube plays.

Most of their Lives are on Zan, the only reason Jou's was free was because a chink mobage deal where the money from it was spent on making the her's free for the same reason that Kaf had Q3 being free as a stretch goal, they're both young enough to know what it's like being broke and depressed, especially in the time of Covid. Even Jou's had extra songs on the Zan archive, and unless you have some way of pulling numbers for those that I'm unaware of, we have no clue as to how many ticket sales they made. The reason the YT views weren't as impressive as they could have been, though I remember Q3 was actually pretty big numbers, is likely due to them never streaming and so the algorithm didn't push the stream to most subscribers, so the only way you'd know that there was going to be a free concert was if you were either following them on external social media like Twitter, or you listen to the radio station shows they do which are infrequent and low engagement, especially since they don't archive. There's also the confounding factor that Anima and Q3 were also live streamed on Bilibili at the same time, and ironically enough the chink stream was much higher visual quality for Anima. This is a great post but it’s also fair to point out Spotify notoriously pays like shit. Mori for example has made around 120-150k lifetime based on her plays there. Sure, but as a barometric for how popular an artist it is, especially if they don't have a collab song with someone else who's substantially bigger then them to inflate their numbers, which neither none of them really have. Suisei doesn't have any, Kaf's biggest is with Kizune AI who's around the same number of viewers, and RIM's is with Guiano. Haru does have her single with Sanari who's 10x her size, but she was at 5k lpm even after that was released, so her incline is likely on her own basis. Kam has a persistent merch store and make enough money from sales that they've decided it's worth the hastle of moving it from Booth to an in house system in the FindMe store, so they likely make pretty good money on merch sales as well even if they're not collecting superchats all that often.

Eh? I've always been an archiveschizo so it's never bothered me that much. Honestly I think the only bad part is the little interaction there is between the artists and their casual fanbase. Like I said, I watch Holo, Niji, etc. and I feel like I have a much more grounded connection with them, and in particular indies, than with Kamitsubaki. While I've never really hesitated to shell out dough for their content, I don't really feel as much of a sense of "I want to support them" when I do it, it's more of a "I buy this because I like their content" kind of thing. I wonder if their being more detached from casual viewers when compared to musicians who are also just streamers hurts their numbers in any way. I think a lot of people go through an intense anime phase and then just become casuals. Same with vtubers. You might not religiously watch every stream but if something interesting enough comes up and is convenient you pop in. 1. The talent has to want to put their soul into the graduation. Coco streamed like a mad during that month.
2. The rest of the talent needs to play backup a lot. There has to be multiple collab every week of different types with different talents+the one graduating.
3.There has to be at least 1 big event before the graduation. Summer festival had an awesome send off to the dragon from Pekora. It gave a lot of kino moments.
4. The talents need to be perceived as a family.
5. All of this requires that the talent actually is well liked by both the other talents and the community.

I think Coco got the graduation she got both due to herself busting ass and that the rest of the JP talents were extremely sad that she was leaving, many of them pouring their soul into the month as well. That is hard for another company to duplicate. Just having a month long graduation for someone no one cares about is just a bad idea.
