I don't think Calli and Suisei are good example to compare since they are mainly known for originals, but how about Okayu. Okayu releases a lot of songs, like, a LOT. However, they are basically all cover songs and they get very good viewership. She finally released her first original song earlier this year and it has 5.5 million views. So at least for her the people listening to her covers decided to check out her original as well. Contrail is basically being ignored.
