Niji only consists of 18 people, the first and second gens. Others are not real Niji therefore they're irrelevant so you don't need to care about them.

Aki only really collabs with other gen 1 members, if at all(usually not), mostly just with chii-chan and Moira. Ibu just has very different interests, althoug actually if you watch Luis you should know about Ritsukin, in which case you'd know about nijisanji minecraft, in which case you'd know about the fuck huge castle that Ibrahim built. And Gilzaren doesn't stream, kek, even his 100k milestone was hosted on his channel by others. He will occasionally appear in collabs and be very funny but he doesn't stream.

I didn't force myself to learn everyone in Hololive right away, and the same goes for Nijisanji.
You follow who you like, and if you happen to really enjoy the group's atmosphere, you'll tune into group collabs and events and familiarize yourself to more of the company. It's more meaningful that way. "Those two had a Mario Kart rivalry", "this group waged war in Ark", "oh, these people are connected through this person" is easier to remember than seeing the group as a whole. This entire vtuber thing is all for entertainment anyway. I know this is a bait thread but for people who genuinely stress about how many people there are in Nijisanji (a common thing that people say wards them away from checking them out), don't force yourself and just enjoy what you like. Recognizing the livers comes on its own.
