That's the worst excuse you could possibly give. If your argument boils down to "it doesn't have to be good because I have no respect for the target demographic", then it isn't an argument, you're just coming up with excuses for shoddy craftsmanship. If everyone developed all ages games with that philosophy, we wouldn't have Mario 64s or OoTs, the pillars that modern game design are based off of simply wouldn't exist. These aren't even complaints that are generally relevant to hardcore play (which in reality is mostly independent of what Gamefreak does anyway, the bulk of the comp scene has always been controlled and regulated by fans), this is stuff like "this remake is lacking core features that an older remake of the same games included" and "wow these games haven't meaningfully evolved at all in the last 20 years, and in fact are arguably less fleshed out than they've ever been". People are willing to give other companies shit for shoving out yearly unpolished games under immense crunch, but Gamefreak gets a pass because it's Pokemon.
