Mumei had roommate stuff to a lesser extent than Fauna, along with a scuffed streaming setup that initially limited her stream lengths, initially showing up more often on other people’s streams than her own. Not to mention how she gave SCs the Ina treatment until recently, and the probable demoralizing effect of having her streaming ideas get shot down by management. Nowadays she regularly has 3-4 hour streams with a SC reading/zatsudan section at the end, and the most recent one lasted 5 hours. The one week where she wasn’t too worried about schoolwork gave us a 9-stream week, 4 of which happened in a 24-hour period from Council Cake collab to Animal Crossing and two guerrilla karaokes for a total of 7 and a half hours. I’d say that if her original song escapes from development hell and she moves somewhere where she can be loud without waking the neighbors, post-college Mumei can probably overtake Kronii’s sub count and pull more views than most of her EN senpais.
Aside from that, I’m not sure there’s actually much room for growth in the current EN market. Unless the Omicron strain is serious enough to reinstitute lockdowns, Council probably did about as well as could be expected, and we’re looking at the new normal for western vtubing.
