Council realized quickly that putting in more hours does nothing. Absolutely nothing. It doesn't boost your popularity, it doesn't help with the sub count, it doesn't even help with superchats for fucks sake because people will still pay the same just spread out over longer periods. There is absolutely no tangible difference between first months 0% Mori and current 6% Mori in terms of views, SC, etc.
Hell, Ayame quite literally just doesn't stream, EVER, and she still rakes in obscene amounts of money and is one of the most popular Holos.

So really, the only reason to stream would be if you actually like streaming.
And Kronii at least has been honest and up-front about the fact that she despises streaming and doesn't want to do it.

What's funny is that you're probably right. The streaming frequencies dropped off a cliff around the time that Council got their first monetization payouts. I think if you've ever worked a normal job where you scraped by, seeing your first Hololive paycheck just puts into perspective how you were trying too hard. They realized that they're on the gravy train now, and whether it's streaming 6 hours a week, or taking a month off, all is forgiven behind the mask of an anime girl, in fact you'll have another payout waiting for you in your "return stream."

That's why I prefer indies nowadays. Their struggles build character, and they've got more to show than being friends IRL with Ina.

I mean fuck, the whole point of Idols is that you watch them go from raw talent into superstars. That's their Wrestling storyline. People watch Miko and Suisei go from contemplating graduation into megahits with albums. People watched Towa's struggle to rekindle her lost honor come to a head with her 3D debut. Sora literally has her Round of Thirteen as a statement to how far she's carried herself and the company.

Now? We have Sana taking a month off because her pet died. Kronii taking a huge 'break' despite only being active for a month. Mumei barely streams. Ayame never streams. Membership streams and 'Return' streams are huge payouts that'll secure them months and months of financial stability and Ayame in particular has realised her paypigs will just do the work for her. Guaranteed success isn't 'Idol': it's soulless, idol-shaped corpo nonsense.

Indies and the smaller companies are putting their everything into even getting a fraction of what Holos get and show much more appreciation to the fans who help them get there.

The Hololive name grants too much guaranteed success, you don't feel the satisfaction of rooting for the underdog anymore with Hololive. Because they're at the top, they don't have any huge obstacles or barriers to break past, they've already won just by being Hololive. Funny enough, Holostars are the closest thing Holopro has to the idol experience right now because it actually feels like they're working towards greater success and earning their milestones rather than having good luck and algorithm power coast them towards victory.

That's pretty bad considering companies nowadays pull products off the shelves simply because they don't make enough money and they don't want to oversaturate the market with too many mediocre products that you need to pay too many employees for. Generally speaking it's better to keep your portfolio slim but retain a high quality. They surely don't have a shortage of applicants.

That will never happen. You got no fucking clue how any of this works. You can't just graduate people when they stop making money. That's how you destroy the moral in your company and cause a gigantic shitstorm from fans, getting eternally labelled as yet another black company by the very people that invested time, passion and money in you. Imagine having to deal with a Coco fallout every couple of months. The company would be abandoned a year later when their big earners stop renewing contracts because they also started to hate the company. This is also why it's risky to just hire anyone.

>>13856026
>You can't just graduate people when they stop making money.
Cover won't be the one graduating them, they will be the one leaving the industry. The absolute majority of graduations of vtubers are either people that found a better deal, or people that quit this stuff because they're not popular enough. If tomorrow Cover loses 95% of its viewership, graduation because of lack of popularity will happen. What I'm saying is that people like Ayame can exist because Cover makes money simply by existing now. All Holos like each others because there's money for everyone. If tomorrow they don't have as much money, there will probably be some resentment between the different holos. Coco quit because of that, though it wasn't for a lack of money, but for a lack of opportunities
