Realistically speaking? No. After -I want to say- Gen 2 they started primarily hiring people with experience and entertainment media. I think 3 years is the minimum, IIRC. Holostars is a bit different, you have to be amicable and be able to work well with your peers, but I don't think experience in entertainment is necessarily a prerequisite. So, if you're jonesing to be a Holo get some experience and subscribers under your belt first. Become semi well known.

Yes and no. They were at the right place at the right time, sure, but now that they've blazed the trail and set examples of what to do (and avoid) it will be fairly easy for Gen2 to become popular as long as Cover's scouting division doesn't do a worse job than the first time around. There are plenty of good indies out there who could do just as well as HoloMyth did. Their numbers probably won't ever be as big, but they could easily achieve steady growth.

I guess theres two types of vtubers these days in the west, the ones who want to make it and the ones who are doing it all to sell out immediately to Hololive, and obviously the ones who want to make it as Indies are probably going to say no to Holo's scouts.
