I think the mascot works if the talent loves it and uses it a lot. I love Gen 5 so I will use them as an example, Botan always highlights the artists that makes different SSRBs. Nene's rootcrop is always part of her joke. Lamy always has her yukimin close to her. Polka doesn't really highlight hers. Ayame's Poyoyo is the cutest mascot for me but that thing is nowhere to be seen in streams. It's just an accessory really.

I wrote a script that basically goes through a stream chat log (download chat logs in json format using Youtube Chat Downloader) and tracks unique members who interacted with the stream (who registered membership, upgraded membership, sent messages, sent monthly free membership message, or SC’d during the stream). By the end of each month, I download all HoloEN (and Selen + Rosemi) streams’ chat logs and run my script through.
Admittedly, it doesn’t detect every members (those who don’t interact with the stream in at least one of above manners can’t be detected). However, it provide a glimpse on memberships’ floors and unless two fanbases behave significantly different from each other, you can compare them to some extents

I used to download all of IRyS' chat logs and am able to count the number of chatting members over an arbitrary period and I have ~3,716 members for the November streams. It doesn't count membership messages or superchats though. (I also heard that the post-stream chat logs is sometimes missing a bunch of messages.) Do you have something close to that?

IRyS did really freaking well. She showed that she can hang with the champion (Okayu) by winning 2 races in her bracket. If she cleans up some of her mistakes and practices the tougher courses (like the Rainbow Road that fucked her over) she can be a threat next year.

I think IRyS did pretty well, above my expectation at least. It's too bad she couldn't make it (choked a few times, most glaringly during that RR round), but it can't be helped. She probably can do better with a bit more luck and more practices. I think her playstyle seems to be a little bit too passive / defensive, but I've never played MK before so it's just my opinion.
I hope she wasn't too depressed and her mood recovered while watching the rest of the tournament. As long as she had fun, I'm totally fine (going to send her a SC to show my support next time she streams too). Enjoyed this stream, the scrim yesterday, and her practice with Bae in Bae's stream few days ago.

I use Xenova's Chat Downloader (https://github.com/xenova/chat-downloader)), with command line similar to this:
chat_downloader <stream link> --cookies <my YT cookie> --message_groups "messages superchat" --output "F:\chat-downloader\IRyS Nov/IRyS_21Nov.json"
It can grab every events I mentioned in a neat json file. After that, it's just a matter of having the script to go through json file, look for membership message events, SCs, or member-type users and grab their unique IDs.

anyways yea she did good in the tourney about what i expected especially after the exhibition matches yesterday and her saying she was nervous. it was great seeing her win on big blue after moo moo meadows cause she seemed to relax a bit vibing to the track and that clutch rng shroom for the cute reaction. and of course that cheeseland win was awesome. hope she had fun tho and didnt beat herself up too much about not making finals.
