Every now and then I see a vtuber who is clearly putting in a lot of heart and soul into their work but each video gets double or low triple digits, and I get a horrible sense of guilt in the pit of my stomach. Vtubing is too hard and I am worried about it long term, for both the viewer and streamer side of things.

I mean, long story short, we had both collabed (separately) with this other vtuber; and as soon as the collab was over, we were blocked and scrubbed altogether from vods, communities etc. I made a vent post about it when it happened, and Thonk messaged me about it and asked if it was the same person who'd done it to her, and it was; so we talked about it and vented a lot to each other about the dumb bullshit that happened.

turns out this other vtuber is a *real* shitbag, made up a story about her parents dying and needing an urgent move cross country so she could fleece about $8,000 out of thirsty parasocial weebs, and when the date for the "move" happened, she scrubbed all evidence of the move from her social medias and acted like it never happened, even going so far as to ban multiple people for asking about it.

this other vtuber's entire channel is now nothing but monetization and ways to "support" her, and even worse is that Nux even gave her a shoutout recently and donated to her, and it gave her a HUGE boost in follower numbers. just makes me feel grimy having associated with her at all.

Have you tried setting an audio gate for your mic? It sounds like it's constantly picking up some buzzing sound in the background. Go to your mic and right click to add a filter to it and mess around with the noise gate until OBS says your mic is silent when you're not speaking.
If that doesn't fix it and it's some problem with your computer then I have no idea how to help you.
