Since HoloEN doesn't have males, thank God, what you're seeing is people gradually checking out of vtubing as a whole, because no matter how much reddit and twatter crowds like to pretend it isn't true, the sole driving force behind vtubing is gachikoi and unicorns. And Horrorlive shat on them from two sides - Mori and Rushia. We're now at a tipping point after which vtubing will most likely die an inglorious death. My guess is the twatter/reddit crowd will continue to bullshit and Horrorlive will continue dismantling the appeal of vtubing through inaction (this shields them from criticism). Vtubing will then become more and more like "general streaming" and will fade away into that normalfaggot background, where it will either linger or just go extinct. Western "fans" do not understand vtubing and are incapable of understanding it because of their conditioning, and through their actions the actual appeal of vtubers grows dimmer and dimmer by the day. By removing what made vtubing special in order to "save it" the reddit/twatter crowd will kill it, just like they killed every other form of Western entertainment. Smaller western corpos won't do shit or matter at all since they never even had the notion of having idols or putting in any effort. Their girls are "general streamers" by design, and they'll just crash and burn the moment Holo keels over.

It's not even theoretical for me. I was membered to six girls. Now only one (Gura). Vtubing is obviously nearing its expiration date, and in a strange twist of fate it's not just the imbecility of fake Western fans that is pushing it over the edge but the company itself and its retarded decisions and lack of decisive action.
