I head people talk about inconsistency like it's unique to Niji, but it's true about Hololive as well. There are some obvious winners and losers there, and it's sort of silly to pretend that there's some huge difference in average quality.
I watch whichever vtubers I personally find engaging, and their "company" hasn't been a good predictor of that, so far.

Both companies on their own poop out enough content that you literally don't have enough hours in the day to watch it all. The thing is they bother have their own ecosystem of collabs and lore, so if you want to keep up, it kinda makes sense to main one, and then pick a couple favorites to catch during off hours.
