That could work. The original myth had the snake Boros but as worship of Kronii became popular, the snake was retconned into Kronii's pet and renamed Ouroboros by adding Kronii's name on it. But the original Boros myth survived. Kronies are so used to hearing both myths they don't make the connection that Boros and Ouroboros are the same snake and that there are contradictions in the myths.

How would it benefit the company? Already established large trading fleet, storage units, and legions of employees and tons of capital would likely allow the company to carry out trading with higher cost-efficiency from national trading fleets. This cost-efficiency is profits to the company.

For the nation of infinity? No need to invest capital into building and maintaining ocean-worthy trading fleets. All those resources could be used to build more ironclads, infrastructure on the home island, or perhaps funneled into funding certain large projects. Simply, you save money.
Furthermore, it's a lower risk. The company ships pay you for your goods at you home ports, so you will not risk losing profits whenever a ship is lost to the seas or pirates, or enemies of infinity.

Most importantly, this would be a good start for further economic cooperation between the nation of infinity and the Chronobanks Company & its partners. Perhaps even, if a need arises, some private funding for large industrial or infrastructural projects could be negotiated in the future.

Its a very low-risk venture for both parties, with potential for mutual profit. Please consider it, I'm personally looking forward to cooperating with infinity.

I clipped audio from parts of the RFA stream where Kronii went Super Saiyan. Used it during my Sad Panda reps and holy shit it makes the experience OVER 9000x better. Yes, that is what I had in mind. It should be fine if the allies of inifnity are given the heads up that the company trades in cooperation with / on behalf of the nation of infinity.
Since the canal isn't yet built, I'd believe using ocean-faring vessels for the entire trip to be more efficient.
Chronobanks Company has no official stance on the canal or its existence as of yet. However, if such a project is started, we would be very interested in negotiating a number of agreements regarding the canal, it's funding, and travel through it. These agreements, naturally, are entirely separate from the one proposed now, and the existence of either does not affect the other as far as the company is concerned.

I've an idea, but I'm pretty sure it won't get traction here, even less in map. We declare the canal project open to anyone, we lead it but we don't have the resources nor the knowledge , we are an island just staring this shit even if we are advanced. We know it wold take a century alone for us doing it, and even we the world collaborating, it would take centuries. This have to be a unity project with benefits years in the making.

MEANWHILE, we establish a ports city in each side of Risu and a trade corridor in between, with another city in the middle as nexus for land trade with /mep/ and AnyaPetra. All of this without bothering the Risuers, which can develop at their own pace (I see one risuer interested, cool).

This proposal is too end the "time period" loop and to prompt a lot a possible worldlore between trading nations.

I am adamantly against this deal with /nasfaqg/.
This is a horrible idea because it means it gives them leverage over us because we will not be able to cannot conduct our own trade, this means they'll be able to make demands against us later on and we'll be forced to concede due to the fact we do not have our own trading fleet to replace them.

Yes, we'd have to spend resources on our own trading ships, and they'll be risks, but our ships are more advanced and we're better suited to fight off pirates and third parties. /∞/ should only rely on itself and not cede any of its ability to function to any third party group. Hi, /nasfaqg/ tourist here reading through the thread. Quick disclosure so I can make an honest response: I'm lurking /infinity/ since about a month ago and I am affiliated with Chronobanks, but I'm not him.

Negotiating precise routes would take away one of the biggest advantages of the deal, which is flexibility. Instead of worrying about risks, vessels, unsold cargo, weather etc., you basically outsource it to an already established global company with top-notch logistics. They'll likely sell those goods at higher marigins, meaning that you can negotiate a price and make risk-free profit since risks fall on the trading partner. The main benefit of the deal is that you can "sell and forget".

I should also note that at this point in time in history, there weren't really national trading fleets. The closest thing were the chartered companies, but they were the most effective when given extreme autonomy, such as in the case of the East Indian Trading Company for the Dutch - they basically waged wars on their own.

Regarding exclusivity: the question is, would /infinity/ be interested in maximizing profits via monopoly-type trading deal or would you prefer to just increase your profit margins on logistics and minimize risk.

Monopoly is, as other anons noted in the thread, a double-edged sword. It'd allow Chronobanks to jack up the prices and freely navigate the supply to demand to squeeze every bit of profits, which could mean that you can sell goods at a higher price to him with exclusivity... the only people who lose are the buyers, but as history shows: sucks to be them anyways.

Non-exclusivity would provide just minimize the cost of delivering the goods to an external, developed network, but would prevent any monkey business with the prices unless there's a demand spike somewhere. It would also not build any type of reliance and would be easier to regulate.

Just dropping in to explain some stuff since trade is one of the things people have a lot of misconceptions about, history-wise, since the industrial revolution and then advent of capitalism/modern logistics changed them completely.

To abridge your points, this is a choice between how hands on /∞/ wants to be with their trading. But /nasfagq/ could trade goods from hostile nations to /∞/, and I'm sure you'd be allowed to make up prices in that sitution.

I think that would be the best sitution where /nasfagq/ gets into /∞/'s markets like they want, but /∞/ maintains their independence.
But it all depends on the actual agreement, I've noticed you're all very slick in your negotiations. You'd probably get archivebud to sell the entire island to you if you were able to work him long enough.

All you need to do for a monopoly is to have exclusive shipping rights for a resource. In VOC's case, they just controlled the islands themselves.

It wouldn't be hard to run it efficiently, especially considering Chronobanks is one of the best traders in the nation itself (I could link some very autistic statistics if you want, but I doubt you care). Monopolies have been proven to be one of the biggest possible sources of profits in regards to trade (as I said, the ones who lose are the consumers, not the traders or manufacturers), but you are right that there are security concerns since ending a monopoly would be extremely disruptive for both ends of the deal.
