Oddly enough, I could totally see a black guy becoming the first really successful brotuber. They’re into the real weeb shit plenty, but black weebs seem to also have a huge shonen fight show contingent who wouldn’t care about anime dudes vs chicks on a stream.

There are more and more black VAs that people enjoy and don’t give a shit about their race (Miruko’s English VA, for instance). I can imagine myself not giving a fuck as long as they don’t try to make it their personality trait

Having a distinctive voice is certainly an important feature to help stand out. So I think it's only a matter of time before a vtuber using authentic african-american vernacular english finds success in this market. As long as they're fun to watch, I'm happy to check them out.
