Our cuisine is unique even across SEA because SEA food is generally limited to natural ingredients with spices. Our cuisine generally doesn't rely on that, we rely on other flavors like sweetness and sourness more. Plus it's a mix of other cultures' food, so for better or worse our cooking is more eclectic. Ever heard of cooking with soda as soup base or peanut butter as sauce base? They don't have that stuff lol.

>>20630063
Yeah that's what I hear from the ojisans. They always pass by and when they see you, they'll do a drinking motion and ask "Nomu?" because sisig is that good. The younger kids like the type of sisig with egg, chicharon, and lots of crunchy parts.

Yes you would you retard. The effect would have been more disastrous than the Ukraine War. You haven't realized it yet but the global appearel industry has shifting from China to SEA, the electronic packaging of the world is either in China and SEA, the palm oil which literally almost in every food now are almost 90% produced in Indonesia and Malaysia, the global automotive industry will shake up because the Japanese cars are mostly manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia, and so on and so on.

I'd rather you read up on Ph trading history anon, because the silk road didn't matter based on food. Otherwise all silk road countries would have similar fucking food. Ph has similar food to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and such when it wasn't part of the silk road. The taste profile diverges because of the colonization era, not silk road bullshit.

Indonesian taste buds are geared toward umami (gurih), sweet, and then spicy.
Hence why Korean foods are somewhat popular here (spicy and sweet)
I wonder if these bento is for japanese taste buds since I found the menu somewhat lacking in varieties and flavors. it doesn't look like a full meal more like those hidangan/small snacks they served for class seminars and tahlil kek. Maybe the nasi goreng is already spicy.
