The fact that every gen has outperformed the last every single time seems to contradict those statements, you need to keep in mind that it will always be easier for people to get invested in someone they are able to follow since the beggining so every new gen will inevitably lead to a fresh audience way more easily than the ones with an already stablished viewer base.
The other point is that the opportunity cost for cover will always incline towards expansion since a new gen barely costs them anything while stagnating could be a fatal blow in such a market.

How does that contradict my statement? Some time in the middle of last year, each Holo had much more views even when they were streaming at the same time, even those in mid to lower-end of popularity. Same for Niji. You don't see those amount of total views anymore. Holo recently had like 3 20k+ viewer streams at the same time but anything outside of those 3 was low. That would not be the case last year.
