I was watching Ai before she even became a meme. She was the only one that had english subs on her vids at a consistent rate which was pretty rare back then. Watched Mirai Akari for similar reasons but I fell off with her once Eilene lost the rights to her and then her new corpo owners didn't care about english subs anymore. Even slapped a shitty idol outfit on her trying to memory hole her og thong outfit. Watched Shiro too but she barely had subs and I gave up on her because of her constantly increasing the pitch of her voice over time to the point of annoyance. Saw Kaguya Luna too but she barely put stuff out to begin with. Got wind of Hololive through Matsuri's band aid story much later on showing up in my recommended. The Miko clip too. Not sure how I ended up on /jp/ back then. Might have been by chance or I was thinking there might be threads about vtubers there. Don't remember much about the jp threads back then.
