After using it for the better part of 3 years there has never been a time outside of things that I do for my job which are made better by using a linux distro. The vast majority of the time I am on some sort of stackexchange looking up some way to replicate what I already do on windows out of the box. All of the reasons OP mentions aren't even an issue for me since I have an overabundance of cpu/ram due to my setup.

Theoretically, it's already possible, you'd just need to go for a 3D model made in Blender, track it eith OpenSeeFaceGD, the tracking is still OpenSeeFace, like in VSeeFace, but it uses Godot instead of Unity for the rendering, then you just broadcast with OBS like anyone else and you're golden. Biggest hurdle would be game selection, since most games are proprietary. As for viewers, iirc both Twitch and YouTube require running non-free Javascript, but being fair so does 4chan and we're using it rn
